Author John Van Stry
Why does John write?
I've been a reader all my life and I grew up with my nose in a book at least half of the time. Two of my biggest loves in life, growing up, were science and music. So I read a lot of science fiction, fantasy, and listened to a lot of music, as well as played some myself.
When the time for college came, I decided to go into engineering, because like many of you, I had hopes of seeing so many of the things we'd only read about, become fact as science marched on.
I write for fun, and yes, I write now to make a living. I have once again in my life escaped the cubical farms that in recent years become so much the standard way of work for so many of us, working on computers where we once worked on amazing pieces of hardware that did things we only once read about in stories.
So come with me to strange and exotic worlds, places of fantasy or the far future, or even our modern world, with just a few little changes. Lets dream of the worlds that could be, not the worlds that are, because it is only from our dreams that we may change our world to a new and better reality.
